2025 DAM Annual Scholarship Awards & Exhibition

OPENING ON APRIL 26, 2025 in the Robert and Mary Ann Bury Community Gallery

For almost six decades, the Annual Scholarship Awards & Exhibition has fostered collaboration between the Detroit Artists Market (DAM) and Detroit’s leading art colleges, rotating annually among the College for Creative Studies (formerly the Society of Arts and Crafts), Cranbrook Academy of Art, and Wayne State University. The program has played a vital role in launching the careers of young artists, offering professional experience and financial support. Many past finalists have exhibited nationally and internationally, contributed to Detroit’s creative economy, and become leaders in the arts community. To date, DAM has awarded over 100 scholarships, empowering emerging artists as they develop their creative practices.

This year, the Detroit Historical Museum is proud to present the show in its Community Gallery, while the DAM building undergoes restoration. Ten student finalists from Wayne State University will exhibit their work alongside distinguished WSU alumni and faculty, with three finalists receiving the esteemed John F. Korachis Scholarship at the opening reception on Saturday, April 26 from 5-8 p.m.
